The Lima Declaration dated 21st August created four Working Groups: a) Trade convergence and integration, coordinated by Chile; a) Promotion and Protection of investment, coordinated by Colombia; b) Infrastructure, logistics and trade facilitation, coordinated by Panama; and c) Economic and technical cooperation for improving competitiveness, coordinated by Peru. In addition, the Lima Declaration approved a Road Map that includes
a set of specific mandates to be addressed and underlined that
the working groups should compile previous work carried out in
these fields by various institutions such as ALADI, SICA, SIECA,
CAN, APEC, FOCALAE, CAF, IDB, UNCTAD and UNIDO, among others. 2. To exchange experiences on institutional strengthening for
development, particularly in regard to the identification of priorities
in public policy and promotion of transparency and good governance.
