The Forum of the Latin
American Pacific Rim Initiative, known as the Latin American Pacific
Arc, is basically:
a) A high-level informal coordination and consensus space for
the identification and implementation of joint actions aimed at
generating synergies among the countries participating in this
Initiative in economic and trade matters, taking into account
their common interest in strengthening their relations with the
economies of the Asia Pacific region.
b) A joint platform for political dialogue
and coordinated projection of the countries of the Latin American
Pacific Rim towards the Asia Pacific region, promoting the involvement
of the private sector (academia and businessmen).
Who leads this initiative?
The Latin American Pacific Arc Initiative is led jointly by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Ministries in charge of Foreign Trade of the eleven Latin American countries of the Pacific region:

Ministers meet every six months in Ministerial Meetings. The technical work is carried out through Working Groups. The decisions are adopted by consensus.
